In Turkey, tea is grown exclusively in the eastern Black Sea region. The tea gardens harvest about four times a year. Harvesting begins in May and continues at regular intervals until September. After a winter of snow cover, the tea plant returns to the wild after about eight months with renewed energy and freshness. The first harvest of the year is harvested in May, when the tea is still tender.
 A key factor in tea quality is the harvest. It's crucial that the harvested tea leaves reach the factories as quickly as possible without delay to preserve their freshness and be processed quickly. Otherwise, the tea leaves could be damaged by the sun. Before packaging, the black tea is transferred to cylinder steamers and blended with bergamot flavoring.
